Stripping and true passivation of steels
Black steels must be treated when new, before they can used for specific applications.
The treatment of new parts is geared towards the complete removal of carbon deposits and oxides, but also towards the true passivation of surfaces by forming a homogeneous layer of passive iron oxides that increase surface strength.
